++ Steve Vai Archives 3 & 4! New CDs Coming Soon ++
The next 2 discs from the Vai box set are nearly upon us! "Steve Vai Archives Vol. 3" and "Steve Vai Archives Vol. 4" are in the final stages of production now, and we expect to announce a release date shortly. Stay tuned to Vai.com for details, including cover art and track listings, coming VERY soon! (The first run of these 2 discs will be available exclusively through Vai.com!)
++ New Studio Gear on eBay ++
The slow but steady exodus of old gear from Steve's Mothership Studio, to make room for newer toys (and raise money for Steve's favorite charities), continues with three new items this week, including a Carvin MTS3200 amplifier head, a Carvin Pro Bass 15 unit, and a Carvin power amp! All have been extensively used by Steve but are in great condition anyway; visit Vai.com's News page for details w/links! (This auction ends Oct 12 so move yourself quickly.)
++ The Last of The Secret Jewel Boxes ++
For those of you who have been depressed about missing out on the Vai box set, pick yourselves up from the floor and find your way to Vai.com's store pages. A (very) limited number of box sets are still available right now, exclusively through Vai.com!
++ New from Favored Nations - Banned From Utopia! ++
Banned From Utopia's "So Yuh Don't Like Modern Art" is the newest release from Vai's label, Favored Nations, and it's in stores now, (released Oct 8 2002)! Banned From Utopia is an incredible band comprised largely of ex-Zappa musicians including Chad Wackerman, Arthur Barrow, Ed Mann, Tommy Mars, & many more; the CD is approximately 50% original material and 50% Frank Zappa songs, including "Twenty Small Cigars", "Tink Walks Amok/Thirteen", "Filthy Habits" & more. Order your copy online today or visit your local music store, and visit www.favorednations.com for more!
++ Vai.com & GKS Changes Afoot ++
Vai.com's redo continues, and the next obvious symptom will be a new and expanded video section. The old videos are still online now, and we'll be keeping those, but we're currently going through a lot of great stuff you haven't seen yet, and we hope to have that online very soon, with another new redesign of that section too. Stay tuned! There are dozens of things being worked on right now...
And GKS #13 looks like it will finally be out, sometime before the end of this year! (Greasy Kid's Stuff is the printed newsletter, a sort of mini Vai magazine.) GKS is undergoing various major changes though, and this may be the final issue proper. Plans are to turn GKS into something different, new and much cooler, and we'll keep you posted as we hammer more of that down. GKS #13, regardless whether it's the final issue or not, will be the biggest and best issue yet...
That's it for this update! Lots of other stuff going on, but not much we're announcing quite yet; keep an eye on Vai.com!
